Spend a full day at Costa Solana on Tayabas Bay. Pool, beach, water sports, and a La Cocina lunch credit from ₱2,000. No overnight needed. Book your day tour.

You do not need to book a room to get the whole resort. That is the part most people miss about Costa Solana. The day tour hands you the pool, the beach, lunch, and the water sports for one flat rate, and you can still be home in Manila by bedtime.

It is the easiest big day out south of the city right now. Here is how to make the most of it, and why the soft-opening price is worth booking before it goes up.

Costa Solana sits on Tayabas Bay in Pagbilao, Quezon, about 2.5 to 3 hours south of Manila along the SLEX. Leave early on a Saturday and you can be parked by the pool before 10 AM. The route is simple: SLEX southbound, exit at Lucena, then roughly 25 kilometers to Pagbilao.

One tip from people who do this drive often: skip Friday evenings. Traffic can stretch the trip to four hours. A 7 AM start on a weekend usually gets you the clean 2.5-hour run.

The day tour runs daily from 7 AM to 7 PM, so you are not boxed into a single date. Pick the weekend that works and go.

A lot of day-use deals are really just an entrance fee with a beach attached. This one is different. The ₱2,000 adult rate, with kids aged 3 to 11 at ₱1,000 and little ones under 3 free, covers the things you would want to spend money on anyway.

Lunch is handled too. Every adult gets a ₱1,000 dining credit at La Cocina, the only farm-to-sea restaurant in Pagbilao (kids get ₱500). The kitchen cooks with produce from the resort garden and the day's catch off the Quezon coast, so the menu stays fresh and local: Filipino breakfast plates, coastal mains, and whatever came in that morning. For most people the credit covers a full lunch with a little room to spare.

Afternoon: beach time, a nap in the shade, one more swim.

Golden hour: the bay faces west, so the light before you leave is the kind you will want a photo of.

If a flat day by the water is not quite enough, a couple of optional extras are easy to book on-site or ahead of time. A private cabana gives your group a shaded home base for the day. A 60-minute massage turns the afternoon properly lazy. And if you would rather not rush the drive back, dinner at La Cocina lets you stay for the sunset before heading home. These are charged separately, so add them only if you want them.

This works for a lot of people. Families who want a real beach day without packing for an overnight. Barkadas splitting a low cost for a full day out. Couples after a quiet reset that does not eat a whole weekend. And anyone weighing the usual Quezon and Batangas options who wants the pool, the beach, and lunch sorted in one booking.

Quezon's Culinary Trail Starts Here: Eat Your Way Through the Province and Sleep by the Sea

Eat through Lucban, Tayabas, and Lucena, then return to Costa Solana, your beach resort in Pagbilao Quezon Province. Book your food trail stay now.

Some trips are built around a beach and others are built around a table but the best ones find a way to do both.

Quezon Province has always had the food. Longganisang Lucban heavy with oregano, pancit habhab eaten straight off a banana leaf, hardinera, embutido, and lambanog poured fresh from a family distillery that has been running for generations. What it has lacked, until now, is a proper base for the food traveler who wants to eat well all day and then come home to a real coastal retreat at night.

Costa Solana is a beach resort in Pagbilao, Quezon Province, sitting right on the shore at Sitio Sasahan in Bantigue, which turns out to be a handy base if you came for the food. Lucban is about an hour away. Tayabas is 30 to 35 minutes. Lucena is 17. You can go find the longganisa, the pancit habhab, whatever you're after, and still make it back to the water before the day's over.

Why Quezon Province Is the Philippines' Most Underrated Food Destination

Quezon does not shout about its food the way other provinces do. It does not need to. The dishes here have been around long enough to speak for themselves.

Lucban is where it starts. The town is famous for the Pahiyas Festival every May, when houses get covered in kiping, fruit, and rice-harvest displays. But what stays with you after the crowds leave is the food. Longganisang Lucban isn't like any other sausage in the country. No preservatives, loaded with oregano, smoked until it's dark and fragrant. You buy it by the kilo on the way out and regret not grabbing more before you've even left town. Right next to it on every pasalubong counter is hardinera, the meat-and-vegetable loaf you won't really find anywhere else. Then embutido, fried banana, and the Quezon version of leche puto.

Tayabas is its own thing. Fresh fish, crabs cooked in coconut milk, and lambanog, the coconut spirit they still distill the way they always have. Those two towns alone could fill a serious food trip. Throw in Lucena as a first stop and a last leg, and the route pretty much plans itself.

June is mostly about timing. The weeks after Pahiyas are quieter, the crowds have thinned, but the food is still everywhere. Producers are stocked, restaurants are open, and the drive between towns is a lot less of a headache. If you missed the festival but came for the flavors, June might actually be the better time to go.

Staying at Costa Solana puts you within easy day-trip range of every major stop on this trail. You can eat well, take your time, and still get back to the coast before sundown.

(original branch, 116 Lucban-Sampaloc Road): the spot most food travelers tie to Lucban cooking. Reviewers call it the best place in the province for pancit habhab or pancit Lucban. The pancit Lucban here, miki noodles with vegetables, lechon kawali, raw onion, and a side of vinegar, is about as definitive as the dish gets. The longganisang Lucban is the other reason to come.

habhab done the old way, straight off a banana leaf, no fuss.

            Dealo Koffee Klatch:

your pasalubong stop. Friendly staff, relaxed room. The Lucban longganisa travels well, and the leche puto and signature broas are the kind of thing you hand out at home and get asked to bring again.

if the group's still hungry. Lumpiang ubod, pancit Lucban, bulalo, and longganisang Lucban, covering the local favorites.

            One practical note:

Lucban roads clog on food-tourism weekends. Check Google Maps the morning of your trip and build in time.

a bamboo floating restaurant on a man-made lagoon, cooking to order. Crabs in coconut milk, fresh tilapia, long tables. Reviewers rank it among Quezon's best. Heads up: waits run long when it's busy, so arrive early and order quickly.

a second stop for comparison. Between the two, you'll get why Quezon lambanog has its own entry on TasteAtlas.

Lucena — only 17 minutes away

Works best as the first stop on a loop or the last one before heading back. Stock up, grab coffee, and use the city as a reset point between the longer drives to Tayabas and Lucban.

Come Back to the Coast When the Day Is Done

Eating this well all day deserves a proper landing place. That is the part most food itineraries in Quezon leave out.

After a day of banana-leaf pancit, longganisa bought by the kilo, crabs in coconut milk, and a lambanog tasting at a family distillery, the coast at Sitio Sasahan is a good place to land. Salt air, open water, and dinner at La Cocina, the resort's farm-to-table restaurant, which cooks with what the area actually grows and catches.

La Cocina isn't your standard hotel restaurant. The kitchen sources fresh and local, the menu follows what Pagbilao and the coast around it produce, and the food is good enough to bring you back on its own. Add a beachfront evening, a pool to cool off in after a long day, and a room built for actually resting, and staying the night is an easy call.

A hotel in Pagbilao, Quezon at this level, with a real kitchen, proper activities, and warm, professional service, is new to this stretch of coast. Costa Solana opened in early 2026, and because it's still in its soft-opening window, current pricing reflects that.

Two nights at Costa Solana is enough to do this properly. Here's how the two days break down:

In between, La Cocina takes care of breakfast both mornings, and the pool, the water activities, and the beach cover the rest.

This is the Quezon trip that actually makes sense: a real food trail with a coastal base to come home to, for people who care about what they eat but still want somewhere good to sleep. The drive from Metro Manila to Pagbilao, Quezon runs about two to three hours depending on traffic, and the eating starts not long after you arrive.

Some places pull you in before you even arrive. Maybe it is the drive down the coast, windows down, salt air already finding its way through. Maybe it is knowing that just a few hours from the city, something new is waiting for you by the sea.

Costa Solana is that place. Tucked along the shore of Sitio Sasahan in Bantigue, Pagbilao, Quezon, this beach resort in Pagbilao Quezon Province opened in early 2026 and is already changing what coastal escapes in this part of the country look like. Costa Solana brings something this coastline has never had before: genuine luxury, curated dining, and the kind of warm, personal service that makes you feel like you belong here.

The best part? You do not need to pack for a whole weekend to experience it. The day tour beach resort near Manila option is live, available daily from 7AM to 7PM, and it is exactly the kind of effortless escape May was made for.

What Is Costa Solana, and Where Exactly Is It?

Pagbilao sits along the southern coast of Quezon Province, roughly two to three hours from Metro Manila depending on traffic. It is the kind of place longtime Quezon locals have always known about, quietly beautiful, with a coastline that deserves far more attention than it has historically received.

Costa Solana was built to give Pagbilao's coast exactly that. Named for the "sunny coast," the resort sits directly by the water at Sitio Sasahan, Brgy. Bantigue, Pagbilao, Quezon. The setting is natural and unhurried. The facilities, however, are anything but basic.

This is a full coastal sanctuary, with a pool, a farm-and-sea restaurant, non-motorized water sports, and villa accommodations. First-time guests often arrive expecting something modest and leave quietly surprised by how complete the experience is.

May is peak summer travel season in the Philippines, and the timing could not be better for a first visit. The weather is warm, the water is clear, and the urge to get out of the city hits harder than any other month of the year. You feel it in the group chats filling up with weekend plans, in the traffic heading south on a Friday.

It is also worth noting that as a beach resort in Pagbilao Quezon Province still in its soft-opening phase, current pricing reflects an introductory rate. Once the property moves into full operations, rates will adjust. If you have been curious, now is the right time to go.

One of the best parts about staying in Pagbilao is how calm everything feels. Unlike busier coastal destinations, you are not dealing with packed beaches, long lines for activities, or crowded spaces. Instead, you get a more relaxed atmosphere, a well-maintained property, and enough room to genuinely slow down and enjoy the coast.

There are plenty of resorts within driving distance of Metro Manila. Most offer beach access and a pool and call it a day. Costa Solana adds a layer of care underneath all of it: a dining concept at La Cocina worth the trip on its own, a water activity program that is fun for barkadas and friend groups, and a team trained by HII's decades of hospitality experience across 15+ properties nationwide.

Guests do not leave Costa Solana saying it was fine. They leave having tasted something fresh, seen something beautiful, and felt, even just for a day, like they were somewhere worth being. One day is all it takes to understand what Costa Solana is about. And honestly, it might be all it takes to start planning your next visit.
